Book Online or Call 07361 497692
Cryotherapy is the removal of skin lesions by freezing. The clinician uses a small pen shaped device called a ‘cyropen’ that uses nitrous oxide (N20) to rapidly cool the skin lesion. This causes the skin lesion to scab and fall off over the coming days and weeks.

What to expect during treatment?
Cryotherapy treatments are very quick, lasting only 5-15 seconds per skin lesion. Most people report only mild discomfort or numbness during treatment. The skin lesion will turn white after being frozen by the clinician. Multiple skin lesions can treated at the same appointment.
What to expect after treatment?
Cryotherapy has limited side effects and you should be able to return to your normal activities instantly after treatment. The skin lesion may become red/swollen/blister after treatment, and will begin to scab over the next few days, eventually falling off. Some skin lesions such as long term warts/verrucas may require several follow up appointments. Some hypo/hyperpigmentation (lightening/darkening of the skin) may be caused by treatment. This usually depends on the patients skin type, as darker skin tones tend to be affected by this more.

It is at the discretion of the clinician on whether cryotherapy is a suitable treatment for you.
